THE BEGINNING OF SOPHIA MAE
During a walk in the woods with Stanley Bish (co-founder of SOPHIA MAE and manager of Monica Geuze), right in the middle of the pandemic, the idea for SOPHIA MAE was born. As an entrepreneur, Monica is constantly working on new projects. It was a natural step for her to create something she felt truly passionate about: a brand that aligns with her interests and values.
This is how SOPHIA MAE was born: a brand dedicated to self-love and care for everyone, offering lifestyle and self-care products that Monica herself uses daily. THE NAME OF THE BRAND
When choosing a name for her brand, Monica wanted something personal and timeless. It wasn’t an easy decision, as the brand felt like her second baby from the very beginning. Eventually, she landed on SOPHIA MAE, a name she had once listed among her favorite baby names. When she realized the name was still completely unused—no one had claimed it as a brand or domain—it felt like a sign. This was meant to be.
TWO YEARS OF BUILDING THE BRAND
The idea for SOPHIA MAE originally began with Goddess Glow—a rich body oil designed to give a seductive shimmer. At the time, they hadn’t anticipated how long the development process would take, and in hindsight, they had underestimated the complexity involved.
Creating the brand was no easy task and began two years before SOPHIA MAE officially launched. Every detail, from scent selections to packaging designs, was chosen with care and attention.
The team aimed to create lifestyle products that were not only beautiful but also truly valuable. Whether it was crafting the perfect scent for a candle or developing the iconic Majestic Mist, SOPHIA MAE was designed to embody quality, tranquility, and self-love.
THE LAUNCH
After two years of hard work, SOPHIA MAE officially launched in January 2022. The products quickly found their way to customers who shared a desire for luxurious self-care products.
