ALL ABOUT THE ETERNAL BALM AND BALM WITH LIP APPLICATOR

They delve into the inspiration behind these products, the carefully selected fragrance notes, and the unique qualities that make them so much more than just a lip balm.

The origin of the idea

The idea for the Eternal Balm came from our own experiences. We regularly used lip balm but were rarely fully satisfied. Some lacked the right look, others didn’t perform as we hoped—especially when it came to addressing dry lips—and some lip balms for dry lips had unpleasant scents. At one point, we asked ourselves: what would a lip balm look like if it met all our expectations? We wanted to create something that was not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing and pleasantly scented. This marked the beginning of the Eternal Balm and, later, the Balm with lip applicator.

Inspired by the scent

Scent played a key role in the development process. We wanted something subtle, as an overpowering fragrance isn’t ideal for a lip balm, yet it still needed a distinctive character. The notes of rose and vanilla perfectly captured the soft, subtle, and inviting feeling we aimed to evoke. The result is a fragrance that is not only pleasant but also imparts a sense of luxury and elegance.

The production process of the Eternal Balm

Developing the Eternal Balm was an exciting journey. Collaborating with a Dutch producer, we transformed our vision for a luxurious lip balm into a stunning product. From the very first samples, we knew we had created something truly special. Everything came together perfectly—the texture, the performance, and the aesthetic. It was immediately clear that this would be one of SOPHIA MAE's bestsellers.

The meaning behind the name Eternal Balm

When choosing the name, we wanted something that embodied the product's luxurious feel. Initially, we considered the word 'cream,' but it led to too much confusion. While this product can be used on multiple areas of the body, it is primarily a moisturizing lip balm. Ultimately, we settled on the word 'balm,' as it more accurately conveys the essence of the product. The word 'eternal' reflects its long-lasting effect and the experience of timeless care. The name captures the essence of using something that is not only beautiful but also genuinely effective—a moisturizing lip balm that looks as amazing as it feels.
