FROM CONCEPT TO CREATION: A NIGHT WITH ASTERIA SCENTED CANDLE
In this journal post, SOPHIA MAE's founder, Monica Geuze, and Product Development Manager, Manon Willemsen, take you on a journey from the initial concept to the creation of our new limited edition scented candle, perfect for the cozy winter season: A Night With Asteria.
How did the idea for this limited edition scented candle come about?
We wanted to create a beautiful candle that would perfectly complement the winter and holiday season but would also be something you secretly want to have in your home all year round. This was the beginning of the limited edition scented candle.
Can you tell us more about the scent notes?
The scent notes are very winter-inspired and earthy, featuring ingredients like bergamot, patchouli, and pine. It might seem like an unusual combination when you see them together, but it truly creates a delightful and warm fragrance. The most exceptional note is undoubtedly the pine, evoking warm memories; it's a scent that instantly immerses you in the ambiance of winter and the festive season.
Can you share details about the production process of this limited edition scented candle?
The production process closely mirrors that of our other candles. We avoid using paraffin and use 100% natural wax. For the design, we specifically looked for a color that complements the winter months and festive season, while also being versatile enough to suit any interior year-round. The angel-themed box adds a special touch. The 'A Night With Asteria' scented candle is a limited edition available in limited quantities.
What is the story behind the name: A Night With Asteria?
In the Greek mythology, Asteria is known as the goddess who creates falling stars as she moves through the night sky. This immediately reminded us of the magical feeling that winter and the festive season bring. With A Night With Asteria scented candle, we aimed to capture that same magic. The name alone transports us directly into the cozy atmosphere of winter and the warmth of festive season.
